The group was started in 2020, to ask, “What if Bozeman Creek, as it flows downtown, became a cultural, environmental, and community asset in downtown, rather than a degraded and neglected liability?”

The Summer SLAM Festival in Bozeman, Montana, showcases Montana’s artistic talent with a range of events, including live performances, an artist market, and local food and drink offerings. For 2024, See Bozeman Creek in coordination with Mountain Time Arts sought out artists to create banner designs that capture the beauty and flow of Bozeman Creek through Bogert Park. The artwork inspired viewers to appreciate the creek’s natural beauty, engage with the community, and reflect the diversity of festival participants across generations. These banners highlighted the convergence of art and nature, fostering a connection to the Gallatin watershed.
SeeBozemanCreek in partnership with Mountain Time Arts introduced Revitaliseʌᴉʇɐlǝɹ, an art installation celebrating Bozeman Creek, on Earth Day 2023. This installation, created by lead artists Ben Pease (Apsáalooke/Tsétsêhéstâhese) and Jim Madden, features glass panels on the City Hall pedestrian bridge, inviting reflection on Indigenous history and the spiritual importance of water in the Gallatin Valley. The art, accompanied by the creek’s natural sound and view, honors cultural heritage and underscores Bozeman Creek’s role in the ecosystem.
Mayor Cyndy Andrus praised the installation, emphasizing its significance to Bozeman’s civic life and environmental awareness. The unveiling included speeches from MTA’s Francesca Pine-Rodriguez, artists Pease and Madden, and local leaders, highlighting the partnership’s role in fostering public art that reflects on Indigenous history and the enduring importance of Bozeman Creek.
